GCC2026 Fellowships
We are pleased to offer several fellowship opportunities to support attendance at the Galaxy Community Conference 2026 in Clermont-Ferrand, France. These awards will help early-career researchers and new Galaxy users participate in this premier event.
Available Fellowships
JXTX Foundation Scholarships
The JXTX Foundation will award scholarships in two tiers:
- Tier 1 (1 award): Conference registration + transportation to and from the conference (up to US$1,500)
- Tier 2 (2 awards): Conference registration only
JJ Fund Travel Fellowships
The JJ Fund will award two fellowships to graduate students or postdoctoral researchers:
- 2 fellowships: Up to $1,200 in reasonable travel expenses (does not include registration)
Galaxy Community Fund Scholarships
The Galaxy Community Fund will award UP TO:
- 4 registration-only scholarships: Full conference registration
- 4 registration + travel scholarships: Full conference registration plus up to $1,500 in reasonable travel expenses
- 10 virtual registration scholarships: Full virtual conference registration
Eligibility
Anyone in the early stages of their career can apply, with preference given to:
- Graduate students and postdoctoral researchers
- Early-career scientists (students and postdocs)
- Researchers who are new to the Galaxy community
- Applicants from the University of Minnesota or other upper Midwestern schools
Review Criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on:
- Quality of application: Clear articulation of why you want to attend GCC and learn more about the Galaxy platform and community
- Early career stage: Students and postdocs are preferred
- New to Galaxy: Applicants who are new to the Galaxy community and eager to learn are favored
Awards will go to applicants with the overall strongest applications. All applicants will be automatically considered for each award they are eligible for.
What to Include in Your Application
Your application will ask about:
- Your scientific interests and research
- Your interest in the Galaxy platform
- Why you are interested in attending GCC 2026
- How attending GCC will benefit your career and research
