2022 Galaxy Community Conference (GCC2022)
July 17-23, 2022
University of Minnesota, Twin Cities
Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States
#UseGalaxy2022
Schedule
GCC2022 is three events spread out over July. One is virtual only (Training Day), one is in-person only (Meeting), and one is hybrid with limited support for remote participation (CoFest).
This page summarizes all GCC2022 events, and other cool events happening around GCC2022 in time and space. For a full schedule, see the GCC2022 schedule site.
GCC2022 Events
The GCC2022 Training Day will be held on Friday, July 8. This is a full week before the GCC2022 Conference starts. This event will be virtual, free, and global. Training will be asynchronous, go at your own pace, and using Galaxy Training Network materials. Support will be available on the GTN slack channel, for the entire day.
Introductory topics will be covered on Training Day. More advanced topics will be offered in-person, during the conference.
This is it! Our first in-person GCC since 2019! The four day meeting will feature accepted and invited talks, poster, demo, and sponsor sessions, training sessions, Birds-of-a-Feather (BoF) sessions, a conference dinner, and lots of time for networking
This year we are expanding the number of days from three to four, but shortening the length of each day. Except for the conference dinner on Tuesday (July 19), we won't have official programming (like BoFs) in the evening. We will finish each day by 6pm. Our hope is to make this a more relaxed and more rewarding meeting.
This three day event gathers community members who are interested in contributing to Galaxy's code base, available tool set, documentation, training materials, and anywhere else that expands or improves the Galaxy ecosystem. You can register for 1, 2 or 3 days of the CoFest.
Our goals are to expand the contributor community and the Galaxy Ecosystem.
